Kansas City police are investigating a shooting incident that left a child injured Tuesday night in the 400 block of Denver Avenue.

Witnesses told police that the child was inside a residence with family when they heard gunshots outside and found the child was shot. The child was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

No one else was injured, police said.
