Dog is recovering after being shot during KC home robbery
Three men broke into a Kansas City home early Wednesday, attacked the homeowner and shot the man’s dog in the leg, police said.
Officers responded to the home in the 4900 block of Park Avenue about 12:30 a.m. The homeowner said that when he and a female friend arrived at the home they were accosted by three men hiding on the side of the house.
The men forced the man inside and struck him on the top of his head. One of the intruders shot the man’s dog in the leg. The robbers stole cash, the woman’s purse and fled in an unknown direction.
Police were unable to locate the robbers. The dog was treated for the gunshot wound and is expected to recover, police said.
