Gunfire damages vehicles in Westport parking garage
Police investigating a report of gunfire found two vehicles damaged by apparent gunshots early Sunday in a parking garage in Westport, one of Kansas City’s popular entertainment and bar areas.
The incident occurred just after 3 a.m. in the parking garage at 4050 Pennsylvania Ave.
When officers arrived, they found one victim who had damage to her vehicle. Police also located another vehicle that appeared to have been damaged from gunshots.
Police didn’t have any suspect information.
The damage to the vehicles come just weeks after a gunman shot into a crowd and injured at least seven people. The gunman was arrested shortly after the shooting when the car he was in crashed at 39th Street and Southwest Trafficway.
Prosecutors have charged Kelvin Clark, 29, of Kansas City, Kan., with seven counts each of assault and armed criminal action in the shooting.
