Checkpoint in midtown KC nails 16 for drunken driving
A sobriety checkpoint in midtown Kansas City nabbed 16 drunken drivers and led to an assortment of other arrests, including some for firearms, police said.
A total of 1,054 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint, which ran from 11 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday at 4041 Main St.
Four firearms were recovered, including two for “safe-keeping,” police said Saturday.
Officers also served outstanding warrants and made one narcotics arrest.
