Red dye pack explodes after man robs Overland Park bank
A man used a threatening note to hold up an Overland Park bank and steal an unknown amount of cash.
The robbery happened about 12:45 p.m. Friday at the First National Bank branch in the 4600 block of College Avenue. A man walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller. The note contained a threat.
A red dye pack exploded after the man left with the money. He got into a vehicle and drove eastbound.
The robber is described as a white male in his late 40s or early 50s. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt, denim jeans and a light blue button down shirt.
