KC police looking for car of North KC shooting victim

Police want the public’s help to find a car belonging to a 22-year-old man found shot to death early Sunday in North Kansas City.

Logan C. Minton of Riverside was found slain near Armour Road and Knox Street in North Kansas City. Investigators said they think that Minton was abducted in Kansas City before the shooting.

No other details were released.

On Thursday, Metro Squad investigators released a photograph of a maroon 2005 Buick LeSabre, like the one that belonged to Minton. Minton’s car has a Missouri license plate DN9M0G and has a Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats decal in the rear window.

Investigators think the car was taken in conjunction with the homicide. The car was last seen early Sunday in the area of Armour Road and Interstate 35.

Investigators located Zachary T. Murphy, 19, who they identified as a person of interest in the shooting. Murphy was taken into custody late Wednesday on unrelated charges, said Sgt. Russell Smith, a Metro Squad spokesman.
