Two in custody after police pursuit in Independence ends in Kansas City
Two people are in custody after a threat of an armed robbery Thursday night in Independence.
Employees of a Long John Silver’s at 11211 East U.S. 40 locked down the restaurant after encountering two suspicious people, including one believed to be in possession of a handgun.
The two subjects left the area inside a vehicle before a pursuit began, a police dispatcher said.
Police apprehended one man who bailed from the vehicle in Independence and took another man into custody 20 minutes later when the pursuit ended in Kansas City.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
