A Johnson County man has been charged with impersonating a police officer and threatening a woman with a gun.

James D. Travis, 39, of De Soto, is charged in Johnson County District Court with aggravated assault and false impersonation.

According to court documents, the incident occurred on Aug. 31 or Sept. 1.

Travis allegedly approached the woman outside of a Dollar General store and showed her a gun he had in a backpack. The gun turned out to be an Airsoft gun, according to documents.
