Woman shot late Wednesday at 22nd and Prospect

A Kansas City woman sustained minor injuries after she was shot while waiting at a bus stop at 22nd Street and Prospect Avenue late Wednesday, according to Kansas City police.

Officers responded to the incident about 11:20 p.m. The woman told police she was at the bus stop when a vehicle pulled up. A man dressed in a green hood sweatshirt and a mask tied around his face got of the vehicle, brandished a handgun and shot her.

The victim was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. Police have not said what prompted the shooting.
