A former tax preparer from Kansas City faces up to three years in federal prison without parole after pleading guilty to aiding in the filing of fraudulent income tax returns.

Harry George, Jr., 36, of Kansas City, pleaded guilty Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Gary A. Fenner.

George was the owner of Xpress Tax KC, LLC, an income tax preparation business at 905 Prospect Ave.

George admitted that he prepared 51 false federal income tax returns that resulted in a loss of $116,946.
