Lee’s Summit City Council members will consider regulating 7-OH and kratom products as well as plans for a large inflatable dome at the View High Sports and Entertainment complex at their Tuesday night meeting.

The meeting is the last before the April 7 election that will see contested races for the mayor’s office and four city council seats.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. Those interested in the proceedings can attend in-person at Lee’s Summit City Hall, 220 Southeast Green Street, or watch online, through the city’s YouTube channel and website, WatchLS.net.

Among the items city council members will consider:

  • Proposal to add a large inflatable soccer dome to plans for the View High Sports and Entertainment complex. Some neighbors of the project have rallied against the idea while the local soccer community has pushed for the dome.
  • Code updates regulating the sale of products containing kratom, 7-OH and nitrous oxide.
  • An agreement between the city and Land Reserve Inc. for about $24 million in infrastructure improvements along the Todd George Parkway corridor, just west of Lake Jacomo. The road and utility work would come in advance of the development of about 1,000 acres of land owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where plans call for housing, industrial and commercial areas.
  • A ground lease between the city and TM Aviation LLC for a new hangar at the Kansas City-Lee’s Summit Regional Airport. The proposed lease would be for 30 years with options for two more 10-year terms.
