Webinar on bullying is Jan. 18
Lee’s Summit CARES is sponsoring a webinar on bullying, “Elevating the Conversation on Bullying,” that will be conducted online at 7 p.m. on Jan. 18, the nonprofit recently announced.
The webinar is open to all parents and students.
The online class will focus on what defines bullying and how it differs from peer conflicts and other struggles, the news release said. It is set to teacher parents how to deal with both bullying and peer-conflict situations.
The event can be found on Facebook.
The cost to attend the class is $10.
Lee’s Summit CARES will be offering a variety of other seminars and workshops this spring — including “Love and Logic” classes geared toward parenting teens, Jan. 9-30 at Pleasant Lea Middle School; “Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood Parenting,” Wednesdays, Jan. 17-Feb. 14 at Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center; “Electronics, Your Children, Their Safety,” 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at Westview Elementary School, featuring Dr. Gray Boxer of Truman Medical Center-Lakewood; “Stress Management for Busy Families,” 6:30 p.m. March 12 at Prairie View Elementary School; and “Parenting the Love and Logic Way,” Mondays, April 2-30 at Prairie View Elementary School.

Lions Club welcomes new members
The Lee’s Summit Lions Club welcomed two new members during a Jan. 9 meeting.
First Vice District Governor Pat Scott, of the Mayview Lions Club, installed Conrad Jones and Blain Beatty as new members in the club.
Jones, sponsored by Lion President Shane McCray, can be found at John’s Barber Shop.
Beatty, sponsored by Lion Secretary Michael Delacour, works in real estate.
