Missouri Teen Pageant winner from Lee’s Summit West

A student from Lee’s Summit West High School has been crowned National American Miss Missouri Teen 2017, and she will advance to national competition over Thanksgiving in Anaheim, Calif.

The winner is Maryn White, 16, daughter of Mark and Marla White.

Each year, National American Miss awards more than $1.5 million in cash, scholarships and prizes across the country through its programs for girls aged 4 to 20. The competition, which aims to impart life skills and self-confidence, consists of community involvement (10 percent), poise and presentation in formal wear (30 percent), personal interview (30 percent) and on-stage personal introduction (30 percent).
