Business notes: Euronet partners with Indian online shopping service

Leawood-based Euronet Worldwide Inc. is partnering with Flipkart, a popular online shopping service in India, to make it easier for consumers there to purchase products and services using digital gift codes. “Indian consumers across major banks will soon be able to use their online banking portals and mobile banking applications to purchase digital codes which can be delivered instantly via their email accounts or through a text message” using Eurornet’s electronics payment processing services, according to a statement from both companies.

Lawyer and commander

Jay Selanders, who was recently appointed the managing partner of the Kansas City office of Kutak Rock LLP, has been named commander of the Kansas Air National Guard. Selanders, a member of the air service for more than 30 years, will lead 2,400 airmen in the 184th Intelligence Wing in Wichita and the 190th Air Refueling Wing in Topeka. Selanders joined the law firm in 2007.

Hospital recognized

Shawnee Mission Medical Center has been named a 2014 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates Inc., a health care consulting company. The award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieve the 95th percentile of performance in patience experience. Press Ganey works with more than 11,000 health-care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve patient experience.
