Kansas City Allerby & Asthma adds doctor
James Sterner has joined the medical staff at Kansas City Allergy Asthma Associates. He will care for children and adult patients at the medical clinic’s Overland Park and Lee’s Summit offices. A 2005 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine, Sterner previously served as chief of allergy and immunology and chief of adult immunizations at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso.
MidAmerica Nazarene grantMidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe has received a $280,000 grant from the Kansas Board of Regents to fund a collaborative program with the Turner School District, the Kansas City, Kan., School District and Olathe-based Garmin. The grant will provide professional development for science teachers in grades 6 through 12 on so-called Next Generation Science Standards.
Entrepreneurial awardsWilliam H. Dunn Sr. of Leawood will be among those honored March 8 at Thinking Bigger Business Media’s “25 under 25” awards. The award is given to individuals who have made lasting contributions to the area’s entrepreneurial community. Dunn was among those who helped launch what is now known as the MidAmerica Minority Supplier Development Council.
