Business notes: Euronet names high-tech leader to its board
New Euronet director
Mark Callegari has joined the board of directors of Euronet Worldwide, the Leawood-based electronic payments processing company.
Callegari, a long-time area high-tech entrepreneur, will serve on the board’s nominating and corporate governance and compensation committees.
He is the founder and chief executive officer of Callegenix LLC, which builds illumination and microprocessor control systems. He also founded LightWild LLC, which serves the LED lighting industry.
Banker joins Heart Association board
Pamela Berneking, co-founder, president and chief executive of Alterra Bank in Kansas City, has been appointed to the board of the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate. She will serve a two-year term. The organization oversees and 11-state area, including Kansas and Missouri.
Salvation Army appointment
The Salvation Army has named a new leader for its Kansas and Western Missouri Division headquartered in Kansas City. Major Evie Diaz assumes her new position today , replacing Major Charles Smith, who along with his wife, Major Sharon Smith, are moving to Chicago to lead the Metropolitan Division of the organization.
Diaz previously served as divisional commander for the Salvation Army’s Heartland Division based in Peoria, Ill.
