Business notes: New golf partnership director for upcoming Digital Ally Open
Golf partnership director
Rick Amos has been named the director of business partnerships for the Digital Ally Open, the PGA Tour event scheduled for Aug. 3-9 at the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lions Gate in Overland Park. Amos had previously worked for the Kansas City Royals, Sporting Kansas City and Jayhawk IMG Sports Marketing.
The Kansas City Crusaders are the host organization for the golf tournament, formerly known as the Midwest Classic. The event is part of the Web.com tour, which serves as a proving ground for players to advance to the PGA Tour.
Car dealership adds location
DriveTime, a nationwide used car dealership and financing company, said it recently signed a five-year leasing agreement for a new location in Olathe at 820 N. Rogers Road. The dealership, which specializes in helping consumers with credit problems, expects the 10,000-square-foot location to open at the end of June. It will be the company’s second in the Kansas City area.
Shawnee Mission school bonds
Moody’s Investors Service has assigned an Aaa rating on $118.6 million in general obligation bonds for the Shawnee Mission School District. It also said the district’s financial outlook is stable.
Proceeds from the bonds will be used for facility improvements as well as for a refunding of securities for debt service savings.
Moody’s said the rating and stable outlook opinion “reflects the district’s track record of maintaining consistent reserve levels in its contingency fund, and its demonstrated ability to reduce expenditures to match revenues in recent years in reaction to state aid reductions.”
