Leawood Chamber beefs up economic development services
Leawood chamber expands
The Leawood Chamber of Commerce said it has contracted with the city of Leawood to provide expanded economic development services, focusing on recruiting and retaining businesses. The chamber and its Economic Development Council will dedicate more time and resources to a formal business retention program, including personal visits to employers to identify their needs.
Later this year, the chamber’s website, leawoodchamber.org, will be updated to provide better access to information about real estate, and economic and demographic inforatmion.
“We want to ensure that Leawood is top of mind for businesses as they consider expanding their current operations in Leawood or relocating their business” here, said Kevin Jeffries, the chamber’s president and chief executive officer.
Engineering firm hiring
Adam Kline has joined Overland Park-based BHC Rhodes as a project manager in the company’s utilities services area. Kline has 15 years of experience as a business analyst, process manager and project manager.
New at Tallgrass Creek
Erickson Living said Pamela Haman has been named associate executive director at the Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park. She was previouly associate executive director at Greenspring, an Erickson Living community in Northern Virginia.
Parade of Homes
The annual Spring Parade of Homes tour is set to begin on April 25, featuring 340 new homes from 109 builders across eight counties in the Kansas City area. The tour showcases new homes ranging from $179,000 to $1.79 million.
All of the homes being showcased will be open daily through May 10, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
