Animal health company adding jobs at Overland Park office
Parnell, an animal health care company, said it plans to add 32 jobs at its North American headquarters at Corporate Woods in Overland Park.
The Australian company, which specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing veterinary medicine products for companion and farm animals, established its area operations with a handful of employees about two years ago at 9401 Indian Creek Parkway. Parnell received a $400,000 grant from the Kansas Bioscience Authority as part of the headquarters move.
Parnell said it expected to increase its U.S. workforce to 95 over the next year. The company also plans to expand its headquarters space, although no details were available.
Parnell said it is investing heavily in digital technology for animal owners and veterinarians and has seven new drugs in development.
“Our new team members will support our future companion product launches and the continued growth of our reproductive hormone portfolio,” Robert Joseph, Parnell’s president and chief executive said in a statement.
Parnell established its operation in Overland Park to be part of the Kansas City area’s so-called Animal Health Corridor. The corridor, which extends to Manhattan, Kan., to the west and Columbia, Mo., to the east, is home to a large concentration of companies in the animal health industry.
Parnell markets five veterinary products in 14 countries and has developed software for the animal health industry. The company is part of Parnell Pharmaceuticals Holdings Ltd., which recently began trading on the Nasdaq stock market.
