Overland Park Regional opens new pediatric center
Overland Park Regional Medical Center on Tuesday officially opened its new pediatric center, designed to offer comprehensive services for patients from birth to 18 years of age.
The center, which represents an $8 million investment, offers inpatient and intensive care services along with surgical, emergency and specialty care services.
Overland Park Regional, which is part of HCA Midwest Health, already offers labor and delivery and a level III neonatal intensive care unit to assist more seriously ill preemies and newborns.
“The pediatric center represents an important expansion of our hospital in response to the growing medical needs of our community,” Kevin Hicks, Overland Park Regional’s chief executive, said in a statement.
On Monday, Children’s Mercy Hospital and Olathe Medical Center announced an agreement to offer expanded pediatric services in southwest Johnson County.
