Olathe-based Terracon expands in New York
Terracon, the Olathe-based engineering consulting company, is expanding its presence across upstate New York.
The company said it has acquired ROC Geotechnical Consulting Engineers PLLC, which is based in Rochester, N.Y., Financial terms were not disclosed.
Terracon said it has retained all four ROC employees.
Terracon already has an office in Rochester, which opened in 2015 and has 20 employees. Plans call for eventually merging all the employees into one office.
ROC, which was formed in 2011, specializes in areas such as subsurface exploration, geotechnical engineering design, and field inspections. It works with both commercial and government clients, including healthcare and energy businesses.
Terracon has grown rapidly partly through acquisitions in recent years. The employee-owned company has more then 3,500 employees and about 130 offices in all 50 states. The company was recently ranked 32nd in the Engineering News-Record’s list of the top 500 engineering design firms.
