Johnson County names parks director

Jill Geller has been named the new executive director for the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.

Geller, an Olathe resident, was selected following a national search and replaces Michael Meadors who retired last December. Geller had been the district’s interim executive director. Prior to that, she was superintendent of recreation.

Geller began working for district in August 1980 as a recreation coordinator. Over the years, Geller has received numerous promotions and various appointments.

Geller was one of 55 candidates to be reviewed by a search committee. Her appointment is effective Tuesday.
