Here’s what Olathe City Council members will discuss in Tuesday meeting
Olathe City Council is meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the city council chambers at Olathe City Hall, 100 E. Santa Fe Street.

Agendas can be found online ahead of the meetings, and are typically available the Friday before each scheduled meeting.
Among other items, this week’s meeting will include a presentation about the 2025 Olathe Mayor’s Children’s Fund, a yearly campaign that raises money for local organizations which support children’s causes. Checks will be handed out to this year’s beneficiaries before the council meeting begins.
The council will also hear a presentation about achievements at Kansas State University’s Olathe campus.

Meeting agenda items for Feb. 17
Among other items on the agenda, council members will discuss:
- Appointing members to the Citizen’s Police Advisory Council.
- Adding a downtown building, 126 S. Cherry Street, to Olathe’s Register of Historic Places. The building served as the city’s first post office and is currently used as a religious center.
- Issuing $15.3 million industrial revenue bonds for a project that will build a new commercial building at Cedar Creek Corporate Park. The project is for the expansion of the Atmos Energy regional headquarters and construction of a service center across the street from its existing facility.
The city council will also hear a staff report about proposed updates to city ordinances regarding the use of electric-assisted bicycles (e-bikes), electric-assisted scooters (e-scooters), and similar devices.
