Business notes: Overland Park residential area earns beautification award
Award-winning green thumb
The Villas at Carrington Square, a residential property at 9801 W. 137th St., has won the 2014 “Excellence in Landscaping” award from the city of Overland Park. The property and its manager, Irongate Management, were recognized for their success in beautifying the city through landscaping, tree planting and maintenance efforts.
Each year a “Legacy of Greenery” committee looks for outstanding landscaping efforts by commercia developments, businesses and public entities.
Fully occupied
The WestLink Business Center, at Kansas 7 and 43rd Street in Shawnee, is now completely occupied with the addition of two new tenants.
Cassidy Turley, the real estate services firm that represents property owner Airtex Inc., said Missouri Valley Wildlife Products LLC has leased 20,000 square feet at 23112 W. 43rd St. The company does business as Nuts for Wildlife.
In addition, NWC of Kansas LLC, at 23108 W. 43rd St., leased 30,000 square feet.
The WestLink Business Center was completed in January. Two other buildings are planned as part of the development project.
Blue Valley bonds
Moody’s Investors Service said it has assigned an Aa2 credit rating that covers two securities packages totaling $13.4 million from the Blue Valley Recreation Commission. Moody’s said the investment-grade rating reflects the commission’s “strong financial operation with healthy reserves, and manageable debt burden that is likely to grow over the next 12 months.”
