Now that 15,000 new emails have been recovered by the FBI, we should wonder what happened to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s assertion that all related emails were turned in?

She still claims there was no pay for play during her tenure as secretary of state. These emails show that many donors to the Clinton Foundation got access to her.

Half of her meeting with private individuals were donors. Depending on how you get your news, you might not be aware of this latest email recovery.

By October, WikiLeaks promises more damaging emails. Hopefully, it will bring to light Clinton’s conniving ways and cause supporters to flee.

If the thought of a Republican Donald Trump presidency isn’t scary enough, the selection of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate should strike panic in the hearts of everyone who laments the erosion of our middle class and the unregulated corporate cash that’s running Congress.

Pence is a puppet of the Koch brothers who, along with their plutocrat pals, are responsible for hijacking our economy. Want to know more about the diabolical dealings of this duo?

Award-winning author Jane Mayer has chronicled the rise of their nationwide shadow network in her best-selling book, “Dark Money,” available at your local library. This should be required reading for anyone who is considering voting Trump/Pence.

Trump, a billionaire, is attempting to disguise his campaign as representing the interest of everyday Americans, but you can bet the Koch machine is running overtime behind the scenes to gain big in this election cycle, amass a greater fortune for themselves and bring more ruin to our government.

Golden era memories

I was driving east on 95th Street southwest over the new Interstate 35 bridge last month, heading to Costco on the Frontage Road. During this tedious circuitous drive, I was reminded of the old M.C. Escher drawings and the old sketches by Rube Goldberg of his contraptions.

If you remember some these you’ll realize they were totally nonintuitive, and nothing was really as it seemed. The drive brought back many old memories of a golden era.

Explaining LLCs

Would everyone stop calling the Kansas business tax breaks the “LLC loophole.” If you have rental income or self-employment income, you do not have to be an limited liability company.

It can be in your own name and not pay Kansas income tax on it. If you are incorporated in the state of Kansas and file as an S-Corp pass-through entity you do not pay tax on the income in Kansas.

It amazes me that those who talk about or want to educate the public political figures and media do not understand the law. I believe it is important to know the facts.

Let’s return to a time when Kansans paid all of their taxes, and the state was a more prosperous one. For jobs are created not by more dollars in the bank, but by a higher demand by consumers.

Let’s be clear you do not need to be an LLC to qualify for Kansas’ tax-free income.

Voting in Kansas

It is consoling in a way, to learn that the Russians have hacked into our election bases. I have known all along that the citizens of Kansas could not have been drawn into believing in the lies that were spouted two years ago in the general election.

It wasn’t the voters of Kansas who elected such a screwball group, including a state senator who lives on the East Coast.

We’ve got one more chance to straighten things out, don’t miss it.

Kaepernick’s stand

San Francisco 49er quarterback Colin Kaepernick certainly has the right to remain seated during the playing of our national anthem while all others stand to honor our country and our flag. He could also walk all over the flag if he decided to do so.

Millions of American men and women of all colors, religions, national origins fought in wars, many killed or disabled, to give him these rights.

However, if he thinks this action will advance his protest issue, I think he’s sadly mistaken. A large majority of Americans will find this offensive.
