Business notes: New director at Tallgrass Creek retirement community
Executive appointment
Jean Landreville has been named executive director for the Tallgrass Creek retirement community in Overland Park. Landreville joined Erickson Living, the Maryland-based developer and manager of Tallgrass Creek, in 2005, and has about 20 years’ experience in the senior living and health care industries.
Most recently, Landreville was executive director at Greenspring, an Erickson property in Springfield, Va.
Tallgrass Creek, which has about 330 residents, offers assisted living, memory care, long-term nursing care and short-term rehabilitation services.
DECA conference
More than 700 high school students are scheduled to attend the 2015 Kansas DECA leadership conference in Overland Park on March 8-10. The state conference for the career development organization will be held at the Marriott Hotel.
Students will be competing in a number of events for the opportunity to attend the nonprofit organization’s international conference in Orlando, Fla., in late April.
The state organization is seeking volunteer judges for programs such as hotel and lodging management, retail merchandising, sports and entertainment marketing, business law and ethics team decision-making. More information: www.deca.org.
Olathe chamber honors
The Olathe Chamber of Commerce recently held its 94th annual meeting, and recognized several members with service awards.
▪ Citizen of the Year: Robert Drummond, retired chief executive of Kids TLC.
▪ Corporate Citizen of the Year: Strickland Construction.
▪ Volunteer of the Year: Sam Mansker
▪ Bartlett-Olson-Poore Award: Nancy Carr and Garry Poore for recruiting new members.
▪ Ambassador of the Year: Mary Dvorak.
