Legislative voting record
The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce has issued its final report card and voting record of Johnson County legislators’ performance in the recently completed 2014 session. The evaluation focuses on business-related issues that enhance the quality of life in the region, including education, taxation, transportation, economic development and school finance.
The final legislative report is available on the government affairs page of the chamber’s website at 222.opchamber.org.
Praeger to be honored
Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger will be honored by the Kansas Advocates for Better Care at the organization’s annual benefit event on Oct. 26 in Lawrence. Praeger will receive the organization’s Caring Award for her advocacy and commitment toward improving the quality of care and life of older Kansans needing long-term care services.
Praeger has served as the commissioner since 2002. She is not running for re-election to oversee the state’s insurance industry. Praeger first held public office in 1985 with her election to the Lawrence City Commission.
She is the sixth recipient of the organization’s award.
