Junior League, Sheffield Place, Connections to Success honored
Support Kansas City recently honored three area nonprofit organzations for their strong financial management and strategic planning. The Mission-based organization, which provides nonprofits in Kansas and Missouri with business and development services, recognized the following:
• The Junior League of Kansas City, Missouri, which won an award for an agency with a budget of $1 million or more.
• Sheffield Place, with a budget of $1 million or less.
• Connections to Success, which won a special recognition award for its creative efforts in expanding their mission.
Joyce Banks has been named comptroller of the Kansas Insurance Department in Topeka, replacing Kathy Bohnhoff, who is retiring from the department after 13 years. Banks has been with the department since 1983, and has been the assistant comptroller since 2012.
