This mixed breed is a total gem. Bruce is sweet, easygoing, playful and incredibly gentle with kids. He’s the kind of dog who just gets it — no accidents in the house, no chewing on toys that aren’t his and no drama.

He loves other dogs and plays great with his foster sisters, though he may be a little too curious about very tiny dogs (he’s suspicious they might be cats in disguise).

Bruce is crate-trained, goes in willingly at bedtime and doesn’t bark or cry. He doesn’t jump fences, comes when called, and is happy to lounge or snuggle once he’s had his backyard time. His absolute favorite thing? Chasing squirrels and birds out of the yard — a task he takes very seriously (your personal backyard security guard).

Bruce’s dream home would include a fenced yard, a playful dog buddy, and people who are home often, whether retired, work-from-home, or just able to spend more of their time with him. He’s the easiest foster his current family has ever had, and they’d keep him in a heartbeat if they could.

This handsome 65-pound bundle of joy at Wayside Waifs is ready to share a life of love and adventure with you. In addition to a brilliant personality, he is super smart and loves to play. Naturally he balances that out with lots of love. He is housebroken and is learning basic manners at Wayside. He would do well in a home that can continue his education so he can be the best boy ever. This athletic boy loves toys and needs a family who can give him daily walks and exercise.

Breed: Domestic shorthair

Age: 4 years, 7 months

Tobias has a heart full of love and is ready to charm you. She can be a bit nervous at first, and like many cats, will need some time to acclimate to a new home.
