These three are up for slumber paw-ties. Two sharp dogs and a tripod kitty need homes

Orchid

Breed: Cattle dog mix

Age: 4 years old

Say hello to Orchid, a gorgeous girl with a sleek black coat, bright white accents, and a speckled belly that’s just begging for rubs. Orchid adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. In fact, she thrives in a home with another playful pup and a fenced yard where she can romp and socialize.

She’s submissive, gentle and always up for a game or a good snuggle. She’s also great with cats and couldn’t care less about squirrels on walks. Yes, she’s that easygoing. She enjoys dog savvy and playful kiddos.

She’s house-trained, well-mannered and walks beautifully on leash. Whether she’s soaking up the sun, helping clean the kitchen floors, or showing off how quickly she learns a new trick (especially if treats are involved), Orchid brings joy and charm to every part of the day. She’s a snuggly, playful and truly stunning companion.

Orchid is eligible for the Foster-to-Adopt program at Melissa’s Second Chances, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit.

Luke

Breed: Beagle

Age: 2 years

Luke is a super smart and inquisitive dog with a gentle soul. He was rescued from a puppy mill and is now experiencing life as a real dog. He loves to experience new things and is enjoying his life, but he’s ready for a forever family of his own. He is crate-trained and almost completely housebroken. He loves the company of other dogs and is learning from them how to be a dog. He is a typical curious beagle and loves time to explore the great outdoors. He will need to go home with another friendly dog to keep showing him the ropes of daily dog life.

Luke is currently staying in a foster home. You can contact our team to set up a time to meet him by emailing adoptions@waysidewaifs.org. Luke is also available for a Slumber Paw-ty. This is an overnight in-home stay of seven to 10 days prior to finalizing adoption, to make sure it’s a good fit for the shelter pet and the potential adopter.

Bubba

Breed: Domestic shorthair

Age: 5 years

This handsome boy is a tripod cat, but that doesn’t stop him from playing and enjoying life. His big personality matches his big, loving heart. He is extremely smart and enjoys puzzle toys. He would do best with a cat savvy owner and a calm, quiet home environment where he can take time to settle into his new environment.

Bubba is also available for a Slumber Paw-ty. This is an overnight in-home stay of seven to 10 days prior to finalizing adoption, to make sure it’s a good fit for the shelter pet and the potential adopter.
