Meet a playful Lab or two fabulous felines at shelters in Kansas City and Shawnee

Tulip
Tulip

Tulip

Breed: Labrador retriever

Age: 1 year, 8 months old

This gorgeous girl has a sweet heart and a very playful spirit. She is very smart and is currently enrolled in the training programs at Wayside Waifs, where she is learning basic commands. She is looking for a home with another dog and would do best in a home with kids older than 6. She feels her happiest when she has another friendly dog companion who can show her the ropes and be her buddy. She is also available for a Slumber Paw-ty, a seven to 10-day overnight stay, before adoption is finalized, to make sure it’s a good fit. Wayside provides all the supplies needed for the short stay.

Bubba

Breed: Domestic shorthair

Age: 5 years old

Meet Bubba, a tri-pod cat with lots of love to give. He is very smart and enjoys mentally stimulating games like puzzle toys. He is a bit shy at first, and, like most cats, he needs a bit of time to feel safe. Once he is acclimated, this little purr machine will capture your heart. He also loves playtime. He prefers a calm, quiet home where he can take his time settling in. He is also available for a Slumber Paw-ty, a seven to 10-day overnight stay, before adoption is finalized.

Amber

Amber

Breed: Domestic shorthair, tabby

Age: 3 years old

Amber is a gorgeous tabby girl who loves lounging by the window, soaking up the sun and watching the world go by — her very own version of kitty TV. Previously in a loving home, Amber was sadly returned through no fault of her own due to a family member’s allergies.

Now, she’s ready for a fresh start with someone who will appreciate her sweet, gentle spirit. Amber enjoys human companionship on her own terms, and once she feels comfortable, she’ll happily “chat” with you in the cutest kitty conversations.

With her soft fur and relaxed nature, Amber would make the perfect companion for someone who appreciates an independent yet affectionate feline friend. She’s content to share your space without being too clingy.

Wayside Waifs is able to welcome visitors without an appointment. To learn about the adoption process and available animals, go here.
