Breed: American bulldog

Age: 7 years, 11 months

Max is an affectionate, happy dog who enjoys long walks and spending time with humans. He would do best in a home with children older than 9. He has a big, happy spirit and enjoys playing with toys. He does well with positive praise and encouragement as he adjusts to new things in life. He has captured the hearts of many at Wayside Waifs and is ready for a forever family of his own. He can be a bit selective about his dog friends, so he will need to meet any resident dogs prior to adoption.

Max is also available for a Slumber Pawty: a seven to 10 day pre-adoption overnight stay to make sure it’s a good fit for him and his potential new family.

Age: 6 years, 6 months

Pearl

Breed: Pit terrier mix

Age: 2 years old

Pearl is a cuddly, goofy, playful pup looking for her forever home. She’s dog-friendly with a slow introduction and is OK with dog-savvy cats. Pearl loves her walks and outdoor adventures, and she’s especially fond of water — she loves playing with the hose.

Whether she’s splashing around or just enjoying a sunny day, she’s always up for some fun. When it’s time to relax, Pearl loves curling up on the couch, getting tucked in with blankets and soaking up all the love. She also enjoys staring out the window, soaking in the sun on her face and watching the world go by. After all that fun, she’s all about napping and may just snore a little, but it’s the sweetest sound.

Pearl is kennel and potty trained, and she’s calm when left alone: no chewing or tearing things up. She would do best in a home without kids, where she can enjoy her peaceful moments.
