She’d like to be a 1-woman show, thank you very much. Meet this diva feline at Wayside
Tessa
Breed: Domestic shorthair/tabby
Age: 2 years old
Meet Tessa, who is looking for a cat-savvy person and a furever friend. She’s a very affectionate lap kitty who loves to play, especially with wand toys. Once you get to know her, you’ll find that Tessa can be quite the diva. She knows exactly what she wants.
She loves to be the center of attention, thus prefers to be the only cat in your home. She wants to have her one-woman show. Tessa has also been known to enjoy bubbles, treats and roaming around her room in the cat adoption area. She’d love a great big window area so she can watch birds fluttering by. Sound like a plan? Come play with Tessa at Wayside Waifs today.
Walter
Breed: Terrier mix
Age: 1 year old
Meet the sweetest boy ever. He comes with the biggest ears, happiest smile and the sweetest personality. He was found as a stray and was brought in by a good samaritan. He was quite scared, so Walter was enrolled in Wayside’s LIFT University program for impulse control and confidence building.
We at Wayside have learned so much about him: he loves walks, toys, and he is quite silly and playful. He gets the zoomies and loves to run around the yard. He is quite the ladies’ man. He needs a little extra time to warm up with men, but with time and patience, he will blossom into the happy boy we know and love. He is so ready to show you his awesome self. Come meet him today.
Phil
Breed: Domestic shorthair
Age: 7 years old
Phil is a total sweetheart who loves being around people. He’s not a huge fan of toys. He’d rather just have all of your attention. He loves a good chin rub, and would love to snuggle up and be your Netflix buddy. He does well with older children, and his foster mom thinks he would do just fine with younger kids.
Phil is a chill, independent boy who definitely wouldn’t mind being the only pet child where he can get spoiled rotten. He would likely do fine with other respectful cats and dogs, as long as he is given a slow, proper introduction and can have his own space when needed.
To fill out an adoption application for Phil, go here. Melissa’s Second Chances is a nonprofit animal rescue in Shawnee. The group finds homes and safe refuge for animals in need of a second chance to be beloved family pets.
Wayside Waifs is able to welcome visitors without an appointment. To learn about the adoption process and available animals, go here.
