Gilligan

Breed: Pit bull terrier mix

Age: 2 years old

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale. Gilligan, much like his namesake, has survived a bad situation. When he was rescued, he was unsure about meeting new people. These days, once he gets to know you, he becomes quite the lovable goofball. Because of his initial under-socialization and fearfulness, we placed him in our LIFT program at our Canine Behavior Center.

He has made amazing progress. Now he enjoys romping around with dogs that match his play style. His signature move is throwing himself to the ground and rolling, and being a bulldozer in the play yards. He will always help you outside, and he’s always good for a laugh. Once he trusts you, he will cuddle with you all day. He’d love to curl up on the couch and watch TV. (We have an idea of what his favorite show would be.) Will you take a chance on this sweet boy?

Tennessee

Breed: Domestic shorthair mix

Age: 3 years old

Tennessee came to Kansas City from Mississippi, so this kitty is a traveler. He’s looking for a cat-savvy owner and, most importantly, someone who appreciates his wacky personality.

He’s very affectionate once he’s comfortable, and he prefers to keep a routine at home. He loves all toys, especially scrubby wands. Seafood-flavored treats are his favorites. He enjoys mentally stimulating activities and lots of playtime, so he’s looking for a best buddy to stay by his side. Come meet Tennessee soon.
