This young pup has manners: Meet perfect mix of cuddly and playful at Pawsitive Tails

Rick
Rick Special to The Star

Rick

Breed: Labrador mix

Age: Still a puppy

He may be half Labrador, but Rick is full handsome puppy perfection.

This beautiful dude has the chiseled jawline of a model dog, and he’ll probably be in the 60 to 70 pound range when he’s fully grown. He’s about half Labrador, mixed with some Staffordshire terrier and pit bull. This ideal hunk for your home is the perfect mix of cuddly and playful.

Looking for a best friend to go for a stroll with around the neighborhood and then curl up on the couch with? Rick is your guy. He gets along with all people and pets that he’s met and is such a love. And for a young puppy man, he is so well behaved. Rick knows sit and come, waits patiently for his food at meal times, and is fully crate trained. We’ve talked about his ruggedly handsome looks, but that’s only half the story: He’s a smart boy, too.

Once you meet Rick at Pawsitive Tails, you’re never gonna give him up. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines.

Flute
Flute Teryn Jones Special to The Star

Flute

Breed: Domestic shorthair

Age: 5 years old

Meet Flute, the musical kitty, at Wayside Waifs. Well, she doesn’t play an instrument, but she is looking for someone to make sweet music with. She’s sweet and gentle, and is the ideal candidate for someone seeking a furry friend to cuddle with. Did we mention she’s a loving companion, considerate and well-mannered?

She loves to play, too, and enjoys watching bird videos from time to time. She’d probably love to watch birds from a window in your home. The biggest thing with Flute is she is looking for someone to give her time to thrive so her personality can shine. She needs a quieter home where she can be her true self. Does she sound like the one for you? Come meet her today.

Blu
Blu Brett Currie Special to The Star

Blu

Breed: Pit bull mix

Age: 11 months

Blu is an adventurous pup waiting for his family to come scoop him up (literally). He loves cuddles. He was surrendered to Wayside Waifs after his previous owner could no longer care for him, and their only wish was to have Blu find a home with people who love him as much as they did.

While being a high-energy puppy is so exciting, being stuck in a shelter can be pretty hard. We sent Blu to foster so he could spread his wings, and he did fly. He loves to play with the other dogs in the home, and snuggle on the bed and couch. He is also learning about cats, and he does really well respecting their boundaries.

As if he wasn’t perfect enough already, he is housebroken and crate-trained once he’s established in a routine. He loves walks, car rides, and maybe a pup cup or two. Blu is so ready to be a family’s dog. He just needs to meet them first. He is staying in a foster home currently, so just call 816-986-4426 to schedule a time to meet Blu.

Wayside Waifs is able to welcome visitors without an appointment. To learn about the adoption process and available animals, visit www.waysidewaifs.org

The adoption fee for Rick at Pawsitive Tails is $275. Meet and greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org.
