Stella

Breed: Pit bull terrier mix

Age: 4 years old

Stella is the perfect example of a dog who has manners and basic training, so you won’t have to start from scratch. She’ll also get you out and about in the yard or the neighborhood if you’re looking to move more. Not only will you get to appreciate the outdoors, but you’ll do it with a very pretty tail-wagging companion.

Stella is very loyal to her people, and she could make a good protection dog for your home if you like a dog who keeps you feeling safe and secure. She is smart and energetic, so training her is fun and easy. She is dog social and would do fine with kids over age 10. She says no to cats.

Of course this girl is crate- and house-trained. She aims to please those people of hers. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, and she’s on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention, too. Her adoption fee is $175.

Dior
Dior Teryn Jones Special to The Star

Dior

Breed: German shepherd mix

Age: 3 years old

Meet the stylish Dior. Dior was originally found as a stray, and unfortunately no one came to claim him. That’s OK, because he was provided with a lot of love and support at Wayside. He ended up in the Confidence College program due to his shy and fearful tendencies, but he has improved immensely.

While it still takes him a few minutes to warm up to new people, he is ready to party once he gets to know you. He’s come out of his shell so much, he actually transferred to the Peace Academy program to harness his lively personality. He loves toys. Ropes, stuffies, balls: You name it, he loves it. But don’t worry, he loves to curl up and cuddle on the couch after a long day of play. Dior is looking for someone to advocate for him when he’s nervous.

He asks that he goes home with kids over the age of 10. Please arrive at the shelter before 4 p.m. on our open adoption days to meet Dior.

Charlize
Charlize Marissa Worthley Special to The Star

Charlize

Breed: Domestic shorthair/tabby

Age: 2 years old

Charlize was originally transferred from a partner shelter in Arkansas, but she is ready to make Missouri her permanent residence. This sweet and beautiful girl can be a little shy at first. She likes to get to know you before she warms up to you. It might take her some time to warm up in her forever home, but as long as she has her people by her side, she’ll have just enough confidence to get comfortable.

Charlize has the sweetest voice, so you all can have the best conversations. At Wayside, she is known for lounging in her comfy bed, or making biscuits. She does like to people-watch, and knows eventually it will be her turn for attention and pets. Are you looking for a sweet, cuddly girl?
