Toby
Breed: Domestic shorthair/tabby
Age: 2 years old
The cuddliest boy in town has to be Toby. Seriously, if you sit down, he will be on your lap for 30 minutes, so get comfortable. Toby was originally found as a stray, but the finders could not keep him as they initially hoped to.
His full name is Professor Tobias Toe Beans, Heir to the Bisquick Fortune. He worked hard to make biscuits all his life and has earned quite a living for himself.
Besides being an expert lap cat and biscuit maker, Toby is a purr machine. He would like to be in a home where he is the only animal in the house, so he can be the center of your attention. He also prefers children to be older than 15 as he can get a little nervous around little ones.
We should also mention that Toby is FIV and FeLV+. Regular vet visits will ensure Toby has a normal, high-quality life. But once you meet this guy, you’ll forget that he’s anything but a happy, loving kitty.
Fred Macey Franko Special to The Star
Fred
Breed: Hound mix
Age: 1 year old
Fred came to Wayside all the way from Texas, where his shelter ran out of room for him. We were happy to help. Fred initially had a tough time adjusting just because he was a little nervous around new people. While he still can be, he warms up with encouragement and yummy treats.
He is ready to learn some basic obedience with his new family. He is easy to walk and appears to be house-trained. He hasn’t found a toy he is passionate about yet, but in a home, he’ll surely find one he likes to share. He loves to sniff and explore, so he is ready to settle into a home with a yard. Are you looking for a handsome man to match your family? Check out Fred.

Panda
Breed: Husky mix
Age: 1 year old
Panda was clearly very loved before life circumstances forced his owner to have to surrender him to rescue. This absolute gem of a guy knows basic commands already and has such a quiet, gentle manner that you can’t help but love him. He loves to pass the time playing tug-of-war with rope, chewing on toys and playing fetch.
Panda lives for some good scratches, and he’ll snuggle in close while getting those as he nods off to sleep.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to always be looking your best when you’re with Panda, but he lives in his perfect eyeliner, ready for any occasion. Panda respects other dogs of all sizes, and he doesn’t have much interest in the cat at his foster home, so he is a good housemate to the four-legged pals. He is crate-trained and house-trained.
This guy will fit right in and make your life brighter, we just know it. Panda is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and on flea/tick prevention and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $175 at Pawsitive Tails.
Apply to adopt Panda at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. The group schedules meet and greets with approved adopters.
