Overland Park Farmers Market back downtown. It’s now in Matt Ross Community Center lot

The Overland Park Farmers Market returned to Downtown Overland Park Wednesday, July 1, in the parking lot of the Matt Ross Community Center.

Vendors offered produce, bread, coffee, pecans and other locally grown or sourced items as the market returned to a walk-up format. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the market operated for 10 weeks out of the large parking lot at the Overland Park Convention Center, where vendors could spread out more easily and offer drive-thru services for customers.

Early last week, Overland Park Farmers Market organizers expected 70 vendors to spread out in two parking lots at the community center on July 4.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, there will be no entertainment and no sampling of food at the market. Purchases will be grab-and-go format only. It is unknown when the market will return to its original market pavilion.
