Lenexa-based Steel Toe acquired by Wichita firm

Lenexa company acquired

C&B Equipment in Wichita has acquired Steel Toe Group, a Lenexa-based distributor of municipal pumps and mechanical seals. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Steel Toe will remain in Lenexa, said Dennis Noyes, president and chief executive officer of C&B. He said Steel Toe has five employees, but expects to add two more soon.

C&B is an industrial equipment distribution and service company for pumps, air compressors, blowers, gas and diesel engines and other equipment. Noyes said the acquisition will allow his company to offer more product lines in more markets.

Pleasanton plant

Fabcon Precast on Thursday will officially open its new plant in Pleasanton, Kan. It will be the company’s first expansion in 14 years, and its fourth plant in the United States.

Fabcon manufactures precast, pre-stressed concrete wall panels used in office buildings, schools, distribution centers, retail stores, manufacturing and warehouse facilities and data centers.

The company said it has already started hiring the 35 to 40 people needed at the plant.
