Olathe Northwest student receives National Achievement Scholarship

Candace A. Hayes, a student at Olathe Northwest High School, has received a National Achievement Scholarship worth $2,500.

She was one of about 800 recipients of the scholarships, which are given by the National Merit Scholarship Corp. to outstanding African-American high school seniors.

Her probable career field is medicine.
