Granite Investment Group has acquired a 48-unit assisted-living facility in Shawnee, according to McKnight’s, a trade publication that covers the long-term care industry.
The building was purchased in a sale-leaseback transaction from Shawnee Heartland Assisted Living Inc., which has operated the facility since its construction in 2000.
The facility, at 16207 Midland Drive, sits on four acres with availability for expansion and features one- and two-bedroom units.
Granite, based in Irvine, Calif. reportedly paid $7.2 million for the facility.
Resort developer expands
Global Connections Inc., an Overland Park-based travel club developer and marketer, said it has taken over management of the Bamboo Beach Club in Clearwater Beach, Fla.
The two-story, all-suite resort was recently renovated and is within walking distance of the beach.
Global Connections, which was formed in 1996, owns, develops and manages resorts in California, Florida, Colorado, Tennessee. It also owns and leases resort condominiums throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Staff additions
Faith Technologies, a Lenexa-based electrical, engineering and technology systems contractor, recently announced two management appointments.
George Van Der Linden was named group president of general building operations. He joined the company in 1987. In addition, Doug Marr was recently named group manager of the company’s Lenexa office. He joined Faith in 2013.
Faith, which is employee-owned, has more than 2,000 employees companywide and offices in Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
