National Merit Scholars named
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation June 7 announced more than 3,200 winners of National Merit Scholarships. More than 40 Johnson County high school seniors were among those to receive the award.
The scholarships, funded by U.S. colleges and universities, total more than $32 million. More than 7,500 people earn National Merit Scholarships each year.
The program, in its 62nd year, grants students annual stipends of up to $10,000 for the U.S. college of their choice.
