Kids book sale set to begin Wednesday at Johnson County Central Resource Library

Friends of Johnson County Library will hold its fall kids book sale next week at the Central Resource Library in Overland Park.

Shoppers can choose from among thousands of gently-read books on sale for 25 cents to $2.

The four-day event, which is open to the public, runs from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. A preview reception, also open to the public, is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Central Resource Library is at 9875 W. 87th St.

The library organization said it expects to sell more than 10,000 items over the four days. The money raised supports early literacy programs, collection purchases, staff professional development at Johnson County Library.

The library support group said it annually contributes more than $100,000 to the library.
