Earthquake

The rumbling jolting motion was an earthquake — land o’Goshen!

We rarely get an earthquake here, so pardon our commotion.

The weekend buzzed of little else: “You surely must’ve felt it?”

That shaking? Why, the very earth itself had gone and dealt it.

And if an earthquake you surmised, you clearly weren’t mistaken

The morning when in shock you now awaken quakin’ shakin’!

A newfound worry of the quake: We ask should we dismiss it…

And have they set a “rain-out” date for those of us who missed it?
