Woman is critically injured when car rolls over embankment and flips

A woman has life-threatening injuries after her car rolled over an embankment Thursday, fell about 15 feet and landed on its top.

Police said the woman pulled her Ford Mustang into an alley near her home in the 1500 block of Drury Avenue about 5:30 p.m. After her children got out of the car, the woman became distracted and forgot to put the car in park.

As it started to roll, she jumped back in the car to try to stop it. But the car rolled over an embankment, got caught in a fence and landed upside down next to a retaining wall at 5413 Truman Road.
