KCK wreck kills motorcyclist

A 61-year-old woman died in a two-vehicle crash late Sunday in Kansas City, Kan.

Melody Carol Hinshaw of Kansas City was northbound on Interstate 635 near the intersection with Kansas Avenue when a Ford Focus hit her Kawasaki from behind shortly before 11 p.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Hinshaw, who was wearing a helmet, was knocked from her motorcycle and died at the scene.

The 36-year-old Kansas man driving the Focus was not injured, the patrol said.

The patrol is asking that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Master Trooper Candice Breshears or Trooper Jason Ruffin at 913-782-8100.
