Weekend traffic closures to cause delays overnight on I-35 in Johnson County
Drivers should expect major delays from overnight lane closures on northbound Interstate 35 in Johnson County this weekend, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The closures will affect northbound I-35 from 95th Street to U.S. 69, reducing the interstate to one lane at night as crews carry out pavement patching work. Traffic will be directed through the work zone with message boards and signage.
Starting Friday at 8 p.m., the right two lanes of northbound I-35 will be closed from the 75th Street entrance ramp to Antioch Road. Three lanes will be closed from 95th Street to U.S. 69.
The lanes will open again at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Partial closures will continue from 8 p.m. Saturday to 12 p.m. Sunday and from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
