Raytown school bus involved in crash with SUV
Police are investigating a head-on crashing involving an SUV and Raytown school bus Wednesday morning in Kansas City.
The crash was reported about 7 a.m. in the 6100 block of Sni-A-Bar Road.
The bus was carrying about 25 students, said Danielle Nixon, director of communication and Community Relations for the Raytown school district.
Emergency crews checked out the students on the scene and there were only minor injuries. The students were checked out again once they arrived at school, Nixon said.
One student was released to a parent at the scene of the crash. The parent took the student to the hospital to be checked out.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Nixon said she was proud of how the students handled the crash, saying they remained calm, which allowed the emergency crews to quickly assess any injuries.
