KC man is killed after falling onto roadway and being hit by a car

A 40-year-old man was killed early Wednesday when he reportedly fell off one vehicle while trying to prevent his estranged wife from driving off and was struck by a second vehicle as he lay in the roadway, Kansas City Police said.

Police identified the victim as Kevin D. Logan of Kansas City. Officers were called to the 4900 block of Laramie Lane just after midnight to investigate the incident.

According to police, Logan jumped on the woman’s vehicle as she tried to leave. Logan reportedly fell off the vehicle and was lying in the roadway, near Sni-A-Bar and Byram’s Ford roads.

The driver of an eastbound black Chrysler PT Cruiser on Sni-A-Bar Road did not see Logan in the roadway in time to stop and struck him, police said.

Logan died at the scene. The driver of the PT Cruiser was not injured.

Police continued their investigation of the incident Wednesday.
