Traffic switch coming on I-70 to new bridge at Manchester

Eastbound traffic on Interstate 70 will switch to the new bridge over Manchester Trafficway at the end of February.

To prepare for that, road crews will close the ramp from eastbound I-70 to Manchester at 7 a.m. Thursday. The ramp from U.S. 40 to eastbound I-70 will close Saturday. Both will remain closed until Feb. 28, when eastbound I-70 traffic will switch to the new bridge.

In addition, there will be lane closures Wednesday for both eastbound and westbound traffic on U.S. 40 as part of the larger bridge project.

Streetcar project. Delaware Street between Third Street and Independence Avenue in the River Market area of Kansas City will be closed through March 9 for track construction. There is also no parking allowed on that portion of Delaware Street during the construction. Crews will be working at least six days a week on the project.
